Networking - Wireless Networking

One of the problems and a limitation of networking using a wired solution is the issues of wires. To network a series of computers an extensive number of cables is required leading to and from the machines. While it is possible to hide some of these cables away using racking, if a problem develops within the wires then the racking will have to be removed in order to track it down which could end up being very costly.

This also posed a problem for home users who wanted to network their computers (to share the internet connection or data, etc) as in most cases it was not logical to have immense amounts of cables or pay for the racking.

Wireless Enabled Computer Cards

Wireless technology has since been developed so that there is no longer a need for network connection cables. This has enabled more user-friendly and accessible technology for the office, home and public environments. All that is required to connect to the network is a wireless enabled computer card installed on the computer.

Web Access for Multiple Users

Since the development of wireless technology, accessibility to networking has increased greatly. This is because as there are no ports to connect to, multiple users can access the same point at the same time. Environments such as airports and cafés where internet access would have previously been next to impossible for such a large number of users, is now commonplace.

As popularity has increased wireless networking is continuing to expand as the technology improves to meet the demands placed upon it. These demands can range from speed, range, multimedia functionality and so much more, as the possibilities for wireless technology are limitless.

Thanks to forward thinking, manufacturers installing wireless networks are no longer as complicated as they once were. This means that installing more feature rich components is relatively straightforward which helps to make networking a real possibility for any user.
