Each PC mouse comes in a light weight case body designed to contain the electrical components which allow the mouse to do its job. They are also constructed so that users can use it for long periods of time, however this can differ between each mouse and some have more attributes for this than others.

Individual Mouse Design

Each mouse body will have its own style which sets it apart from another, this can be the colour, shape or coating finish which all adds to the final design finish. There are two ways that a mouse can be connected to a computer system and that is either with a cable or without one using wireless technology. Each has its own advantages and limitations it really depends on whether an individual users personal preference.

Transferring Data From The Mouse

The strength of a mouse lies within the internal technology that it uses, which in the case of a mouse is the sensor and processor within. The sensor's strength in a mouse depends on the type of sensor used (which usually is either an optical, infrared or laser technology) and the resolution of the dpi (dot per inch), this dictates how accurate the mouse is when used. The processor is how the mouse transfers the information from the mouse itself back to the computer so that it can tell the computer where on the screen the cursor should be in relation to the movement of the mouse by the user.

Different Functions

Each mouse will have its own number of buttons depending on requirement of the user, some users need two buttons while other may need three. Whatever number of buttons there are, their primary function is to allow the user to provide an action, whether it is selecting an icon on your operating system or firing a weapon in a game. Scroll wheels are also quite important as they provide two functions. Firstly they allow users to scroll up or down pages of data such as document (they can also be used within games) and secondly as an extra button.
