Razer - Krait 1600dpi 3Button Infrared Sensor Gaming Mouse USB

My taste in mice is pretty simple. Up to this point, my favorite mouse is as basic as you can get, the Logitech USB Optical Mouse. It comfortably fits my short stubby fingers. It's not complicated by a lot of programmable buttons that I am always pushing at the wrong time. It doesn't have batteries to die in the middle of some heavy combat. It usually doesn't even need a mousepad, so I seldom use one. Though, I have admired several different gaming mice. Most of them felt very odd in my hand. Sure, you eventually get adjusted to them, but I guess I have a problem spending $50 or more on something that feels so weird. To me, ergonomic should be something that feels natural. And, I'm sure that I'm not the only person that feels this way. I think that Razer had me in mind when they designed the Krait.

Razer are known the world over for their high DPI gaming mice and awesome precision mouse mats. Their Copperhead and Boomslang mice are legendary and I am sure there are literally millions of frags that can be acredited to these gaming periperhals. The only down side with Razer products is the price. That's where the Krait comes in; high DPI, lower price. Sounds like a perfect combination? That's because it is.

A mouse that is targeted specifically at people who want to achieve the best possible results in RTS (real time strategy) games like Age of Empires or Rome Total War could be considered presumptuous. The company making it presumes: that there is in fact a market aimed solely at RTS gamers, presumes that the mice already available don’t do a satisfactory job and presumes they have the technology to create a good product. The Razer Krait is an attempt, and quite a good one at that, to prove all Razer’s design teams' presumptions correct.

The Razer Krait is not designed to replace the Copperhead, but is rather to suit alternate users, and specifically those seeking the maximum performance in real-time strategy and massively multiplayer online gaming.
