In recent years the demand for comfortable, affordable mice has sky rocketed as people spend more time at their computers. Speed link was established in 1998 and now claims to be one of the leading manufacturers of computer and gaming peripherals. One of their latest products is the Styx gaming mouse. With 7 buttons, 5 of which are programmable with the drivers provided, and some innovative features at a low cost this mouse looks set to be a good product for the average gamer.

If you use your PC for gaming, you’ll want a mouse that’s both precise and comfortable enough for long gaming sessions. The Speed-Link Styx Gaming Mouse looks great and is very comfortable in operation.
The device offers up a scroll wheel, back and forward buttons, and a multi-fire button, which can be set to shoot two, three or four rounds at once. In addition, there’s a DPI button, which adjusts the accuracy of the mouse’s optical laser. A set of three small LEDs on the mouse you if it’s set to 800, 1,600 or 2,200dpi.
Low-friction feet and an ergonomic design mean it’s very comfortable to use, and slides smoothly over most surfaces.
Although it’s not quite as comfortable or slick as a top-of the-range Razer gaming mouse, the Styx’s more friendly price makes it very attractive.

Verdict: A stylish and cheap gaming mouse that is very comfortable to use. Ideal if you want lots of options but are on a budget.
